The Maharashtra Engineering Training Academy Nashik conducts professional examinations for the in-service engineers below the rank of Executive Engineer. These examinations are generally conducted in the month of October / November of each year. The in-services engineers of Water Resources Department, Public Works Department, Zilla Parishad and Maharashtra Irrigation Development Corporations can appear for the professional examinations as per Government Rules of each examination. The professional examinations are conducted  in accordance with the provisions laid down in P.W. Manual at the 4 centers:

• Nashik
• Aurangabad,
• Nagpur
• Pune

The examination for Civil Engineering Assistants for qualifying to the post of Junior Engineer was conducted in July 2004 at the first time.
